Art Shelter _ RHA Exhibition _ Summer 2012

Lotus was invited to participate in the RHA 2012 Summer Exhibition. The piece is an interactive construction which makes a shelter and allows the visitor to sit and look back at the event of the exhibition. The shelter, when folded down, makes a triptych and when folded out provides a roof, side panels and seat. All is made from 6mm Birch Ply with counter sunk screws. A neumatic camping mat is provided as a cushion and attached using thread wound around it prior to inflating.

In the last week of the exhibition the blank canvas was worked on. John Devoy, an artist participating in the RADE programme was invited to paint the canvas. He chose a dramatic sunset.
